Workshop Bank I

 

(a) Immigration is a Feminist Issue 
Women and children are disproportionately impacted by immigration policies.  This discussion will focus on what’s needed in fair immigration reform.

 

(b) Reproductive Justice
Learn how access to reproductive health care is limited by multiple forms of oppression and how the lens of reproductive justice can alter the way we advocate for change.

 

(c) The Commonality of Oppression
This workshop focuses on the systems of oppression as seen in human rights, environment rights, and animal rights; how they are all linked to each other and the feminist movement; and guidelines on coalition-building between movements.

Workshop Bank II

 

(a) Intergenerational Activism
Discuss how to become crossroads; create welcoming open to new ideas; access information and work in coalition; share information, share resources, share responsibility.

 

(b) Body Image and the Transgender Community
This workshop will discuss what drives a Transgender person to go to extreme lengths to ‘pass’ , body image issues a Transgender person faces and how this community gains empowerment from their bodies.

 

(c) Internet Neutrality
Equal access to the internet will be discussed.  Learn what you can do to save the internet and ensure Media Justice.

 

(d) Sexual Assault Violence Education and Defense (SAVED)
Unique combination of mental, verbal, and physical defense techniques. (Wear comfortable clothes)

Workshop Bank III

 

(a) Working Together for Women’s Rights        
Coalitions with labor unions and feminist organizations. Working together to eliminate the ‘glass ceiling’ and to achieve pay equality, family leave, and other issues related to women’s employment.

 

(b) Building our Families
Examine the various alternative methods to traditional conception that allow same-sex, single parent and infertile people to grow their families.

 

(c) Feminism, A Man’s Issue
Men working for women’s rights.

 

(d) SAVED

Workshop Bank IV

 

(a) Love and Marriage: The Case for Marriage Equality
Current marriage equality legislation and the California Supreme Court case.

 

(b) Feminist Values in Politics
Discuss whether electing more women in politics brings new values into government and legislation.

These presenters have just returned from a trip to Afghanistan to advocate for women’s rights in third world countries.

 

(b) Sex Positive Feminism
This workshop will consist of a panel of San Diego-based women working in the sexuality industry speaking on controversial topics in the feminist movement.

 

(c) Feminists who Changed America
Panelists will tell stories about feminists (including NOW members) who were leaders in the 2nd wave Women’s movement.
